Known for its intricate plotting, psychological depth, and societal commentary, the novel stands out significantly from standard Urdu fiction.
Plot Overview & Hook
The story revolves around five close friends belonging to highly influential, wealthy Pakistani families. Having shared deep camaraderie during their university years in London, their bonds fracture completely over the next decade due to pride, greed, and ruthless family power struggles back home.
When they gather at a café to formally cut ties and end their friendship, things go sideways. They are suddenly kidnapped and held captive in a dark underground basement by a mysterious man named Jabal Ajlal Khan. Jabal, seeking justice for a devastated region called Zoor Garh, forces the group to confront how their families’ political corruption and elitism have ruined innocent lives. Over their seven days of captivity, paranoia peaks as they realize the kidnapping was orchestrated by an inside betrayer.
